Profile

 SWGA and Golf Austraila has an extensive schedule of events for junior players of all ages and abilities.  Some events are conducted by Golf Australia and some by SWGA and it's affiliated Clubs.  In most cases, players need to be a member of a club with a GA handicap.  Many of the events count toward SWGA and Golf Australia Order of Merit.  Read more here..

Junior Short Course Championship

 SWGA and Thirteenth Beach Golf Links are proud to announce the inaugural Junior Short Course Championship to be played at the 13th Beach Short Course.

SUNDAY 15th SEPTEMBER 2024

Open to players with and without a handicap.

Junior Open Championship

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dating back to the early 1980’s this event has been the launching pad for many Junior Boy and Girl golfers to go on and play District and Metropolitan Pennant and develop into exccellent amateur and professional golfers.

The 2023 Championships will be run in conjunction with the Lonsdale Links Junior Open.

Junior Order of Merit

The SWGA Junior Tournament Schedule consists of designated events conducted by the SWGA and its member clubs during the calendar year with the Final Round being the SWGA Junior Championships.

Bill Cunningham Trophies

Open to all Junior Boys that are members of SWGA affiliated clubs, this event consists of a Nett and Gross category awarded to the Junior Boys who accumulate the most Merit Award points for the calendar year. 

Vicki Uwland Bracelett

Introduced in 2000 and renamed in 2002 for recognition of Vicky Uwland’s golfing achievements, this Junior event is open to all Junior Girls affiliated with SWGA.

Victorian Junior Country Regionals Championships

Event Profile

The Victorian Junior Country Regions Competition is played annually by 7 Super Regions across Victoria, each represented by a team of up to eleven (11) boys and girls and it is restricted to country members.

This years event will be played over 36 holes stroke (Boys & Girls) play at Belvoir Park & Neangar Park Golf Clubs, Saturday 16th December & Sunday 17th December 2023.

Previously the event has been played in conjunction with the Victorian Men's Country Championships, which has been reasonably successful in recent years, however there is no girls' equivalent.

The 2020 event saw districts compete across the two days stroke with teams made up of boys and girls. There is a winning gross and net team.

The team has been selected based on results throughout the year.
