18 teams of 6, 3 women & 3 men from clubs across the South West District travelled to The Sands Golf Club to contest the 2026 SWGA Presidents Cup.
The mild mid- winter weather was perfect for players to enjoy golf on the well- presented & challenging golf course.
The competition of Pinehurst foursomes where the lowest aggregate nett score wins was a challenge for Men, Women & mixed teams.
There were many stories to tell, some incredulous & others just plain horror, all part of the challenge of foursomes golf. Players enjoyed the day out & the delicious after golf luncheon.
The President s Cup is a fund raiser for the Geelong Community Foundation & an early estimates of around $1000 was raised from the raffle table.

The President’s Cup was won by host club The Sands with 224 nett narrowly from 2026 winners Lonsdale Links on 225.5.

Mens team: Andrew Phillip & Andrew Tam (LLGC) 73.375 nett
Womens team: Kathy Naoumidis & Kathy Simson (Torquay GC) 74.25 nett
Mixed team: John Anderson & Daelene Crigan (LLGC) 70.125 nett.
