After a season of good golfing weather, round 7 turned ugly for the women at Anglesea Golf Course today.
In this Division of Handicap pennant, several clubs were in the mix for the flag but Anglesea had to sit this round out.
Queens Park, Curlewis & Barwon Valley were out of the running but carried enough menace to the day to ensure that the flag winners would need to perform.
The clouds opened for the first couple of hours frustrating all, even sending the kangaroos to higher ground including on the practice greens.
The greens were saturated with floods of water cascading down the 18th green. The dam on the 16th broke its bank & made a very pretty water feature with barely any dry fairway to be seen. The ducks were having a lovely time some putting their bodies in the line of fire on the green.
During the afternoon the sky cleared, players dried out a bit & all matches were able to be finished under blue skies & in good spirits which is the norm for Sunday Women’s Pennant.
Lonsdale Links were able to manage a draw against Curlewis which gave them the 0.5 needed to claim the prize from the ever-threatening 13th Beach team.
