State Championship win to Barwon Valley player.

Ann Lynch was one of a group of Barwon Valley members who regularly compete in the Victorian Sand Green Championships.

This year the event was held at Parklands Golf Club in Hamilton on 27-28 August.

After a recent victory at the Inverleigh Golf Club and a 3 week break from golf up north Ann was primed for another golfing contest.

In seasonal weather Ann held a 2 shot overnight lead but the biggest challenge was to survive the shenanigans in the evenings (which are a crucial part of any golf trip away, especially the trip away to this event).

A glance at the Golf Vic gallery shows the seriousness of the occasion. On Day 2  Ann was able to cross the line &  finish with a 36 hole score of 174,one shot ahead of stable mate Sue Holmes hot on her heels who scored a second round 85.

It was all smiles and dirty finger nails (an expectation of playing on sand greens) for the popular pair from Barwon Valley Golf Club, congratulations Ann & Sue.

Ann’s next challenge will be to Manage & Captain the South West District Women’s Country team squad at the Golf Vic tournament next month.

 Keep that winning feeling going!
