The R&A Women in Golf Charter aims to provide more opportunities for women and girls in golf through participation and leadership by building a strong base for the future and implementing practices that are fair, equitable and inclusive of all women and girls.
There are currently 21 signatories across Australia, 13 in Victoria of which 5 of those located within the South Western Golf Association. This shows a great commitment from clubs in our region to opening the sport up to a wider audience by becoming more welcoming and inclusive of women and raising their profile within the clubs.
Barwon Valley, Lonsdale Links, Curlewis, 13th Beach & Torquay Golf Clubs have all shown great leadership in this space, making a commitment to sustainable change through the development of action plans that detail their goals for the next 12 months.
