A very successful Presidents Cup was held in July at Clifton Springs Golf Club.
This is our major fund-raising event supporting the Geelong Community Foundation.
SWGA are delighted to inform the District that we were able to donate $6000 to the South Western Golf Association Named Sub Fund.
The SWGA Board would very much like to thank all those member clubs who not only participated in the day but very generously supported the Raffles and Auction.
Our partnership with GCF was launched in 2022 and we have raised over $16,000 in the 3 years.
GCF remain committed to addressing the challenges facing many individuals in our community. In 2024 they continue to focus on building their corpus to meet the growing requests for support.
This year they have received 85 applications seeking $3.6m in funding. They recently announced that $1,415,500 in grants for 2024/25 was approved.
This funding will provide significant support to their grant partners who are assisting people in the greater Geelong Region.
SWGA will continue to raise funds and would very much like to seek help from any interested district member to assist in this project.
