GA Junior Girls Camp

On the first week of school holidays 7 district junior girls attended the GA Junior Girls Camp at Tocumwal.  The girls were jointly funded by SWGA, Barwon Sports Academy, and Individual golf clubs.

The camp aims to support and develop all aspects of their golf game and have fun. The camp provides a great opportunity for girls to meet other young girls from around the State with a passion for golf!

The following report has come from Peri Helman 13th Beach.

“ The Camp was a lot of fun and I learnt a lot.  On the first day we started off with a 9 hole Ambrose with the people staying in our rooms.  my team also had the Tocumwal Pro James McMaster who we were allowed to use five of his shots so we had 6 under off the stick and came second. We played trivia and painted a portrait of someone else on the camp that night.

On the second day we did rotations of the driving range with the pro Jody Fleming, chipping/pitching/bunkers with the Tocumwal pro James McMaster, putting and a on course session where we learnt different ways to get out from behind trees. We played a four hole Ambrose after that before playing pickleball and bowls that night. On the third day we did a heap of competitions and games like longest drive and base golf before presentations for who won comps and the spirit of camp award (I won). “
