I’m sure a lot of players are a bit puffed after what seemed to be a long & drawn- out season. Women & girls from 48 teams representing 18 clubs played to the max in all divisions in very good Friday weather & so, so weather on Sunday. Not enough golf for Div 2, but it was a competitive & thrilling season all the same.
Aside from Div 3 who had secured the flag before the final round all divisions had a couple of potential trophy holders.
Special mention goes to several very valuable players to their teams, those who played all matches & won all matches were:
- Div 1 – Mandy Buckley -Torquay GC
- Div 4 – Ros Brauer & Fiona Scott – Colac GC. Sharon Cresswell- Ocean Grove GC.
- Div 5 – Tess Cornellius- East Geelong GC. Colleen Smedley – Clifton Springs GC.

SWGA will be maintaining the condition of only 1 team per club in each division for season 2026, some winning teams will not be promoted to avoid the double up.
Those teams who ended on the bottom of the table may be relegated but this will depend on the number of teams clubs nominate for the 2026 season.
Winners celebrate well & the other 41 teams will regroup & start the process for the next season.
Now, with only the Jean Russell Salver to be played next Friday 30th May at Lonsdale Links, that about rounds up the 2025 Friday Pennant Season for another year.
