2025 SWGA Junior District Championships

The 2025 Junior District Championships were held in conjunction with Lonsdale Links Junior Championships on Sunday 5th October at Lonsdale Links.

Unfortunately, our numbers were down from last year but that did not deter from the talent and enthusiasm that was on the course.

As usual the course was in great condition and provided a true test for all players. The weather was kind to all players and spectators.

Our 2025 District Boys Champion was Tom Hyland (70) from Barwon Heads Golf Club. A popular winner by his peers.

Boys Nett Winner Sam Dimovski Geelong GC  (68).

Boys Stableford winner Charlie Cooper from Lonsdale Links  (34)

Our defending Girls Champion Paige Moorfoot from Curlewis GC Nett winner  (68) retained the SWGA Plate.

Being the last tournament of the year, it rounded off the SWGA Junior Order of Merit for 2025 which became a close contest.

The winner of the Girls Order of Merit (Vicki Uwland Bracelet) for the 2025 season was Paige Moorfoot from Curlewis.  Paige has had a consistent year and played in the majority of SWGA junior events. She is also the current holder of The Womens District Championship.

The Boys Order of Merit (Bill Cunningham Trophy) for the 2025 season (Gross) was William Keen Geelong Golf Club and (Nett) Sam Domovski also Geelong GC. Both boys have had a very consistent year.

The Order of Merit Boys Stableford for best 5 rounds went to Ryder Brunato from Curlewis. Ryder also won in 2024. Well done Ryder.

SWGA congratulates all of the winners.

Congratulations also to the winners in The Lonsdale Links Junior Open.

The number of junior girls playing this year were down on past years so please encourage everyone to spread the word about how good golf is and everyone should have ago. A sport for life.

This event rounds out a very successful junior calendar of individual events and we now look forward the Junior Pennant season commencing Oct 12th.

A big thank you to Lonsdale Links staff especially Jordan Kane for hosting this event and helping the district in many ways.
