This year’s Championships was held at the Sands Golf Course on 17th & 18th of BlowVember.
75 District women from across the district entered the championships played at the beautiful & challenging The Sands Golf Course.
The event was held over 2 days providing very different opportunities for players to win the district titles & take home the silverware.
Sunday’s weather turned from friendly to hostile soon after play started. Pelting rain & freezing winds proved too much for some competitors. Those who persisted had a chance to dry out in the afternoon sunshine but the strong winds persisted.
Only 5 hardy A graders completed the 27 hole event. Quote of the day ploughing up the 27th hole. Summed up the day.” You can hold your head up you are nearly there.” The reply “ I cant, I’m afraid my contacts will blow out.”
Monday’s conditions were comparatively idyllic & conducive to some very good scoring.
Quote of the day on completion was “that, was bloody beautiful”.
