Perfect weather, perfect conditions and a very well-prepared Lonsdale Links greeted 60 pairs contesting the 2023 SWGA District Men’s Foursomes Championship.
SWGA would like to thank Lonsdale Links for hosting this annual event especially the time and effort put in by Matt and Pro shop staff.
Excellent trophies were on offer for the 36-hole competition and thanks goes to Don Walker for his sponsorship.
After round one, we saw a tight contest with 7 pairings shooting 79 (9 over the card) or better setting the scene for a terrific contest in the afternoon.
The afternoon round witnessed some great golf with 6 pairs shooting 79 or better to ensure the winner needed to shoot two solid rounds to take the Championship.
The end result saw the pairing of David Foster and Matthew Walkenhorst from Barwon Valley Golf Club win the 2023 SWGA Men’s Foursomes Championship by 3 shots with excellent rounds of 75/76 from the runner’s up Noah Schammer and Cameron Bowers with rounds of 76/77.
The Nett result saw Noah Schammer and Cameron Bowers (147) CGC take out the event with the runners-up being Ben Martin and John Anderson (150) L/L
