2023 Presidents Cup - Portarlington Golf Club

Gloomy skies and misty rain did not deter the enthusiasm of 108 players contesting for the 2023 Presidents Cup played at Portarlington Golf Club .
Teams of 6 representing 19 district clubs teed off with determination to bring home the winning trophy. Pinehurst format playing in pairs - male/ male, female / female and mixed pair gave all a sense of camaraderie and challenges. It was heard by one of the organizers “I have never walked so far playing 2nd shot from stray balls off the tee”.

Congratulations goes to Torquay Golf Club who came in with the winning team of Kathy Naoumidis, Deborah Dohnt, Steve Menegazzo, Arthur Naoumidis, Vernon Wilson & Chris Wilson.

A beautiful lunch had by all in Portarlington clubhouse followed by well supported raffles and auction. We were proud to have Kieser Strength and Conditioning Program sponsor the day with many other generous donors from our district. All funds raised go to our name fund with Geelong Community Foundation. Mark Osbourne, Vice Chair Geelong Community Foundation gave all present an insight to what GCF is about.

Our colourful Auctioneer Ritchie Howell was entertaining to say the least and was clever in keeping interest and value of items up. We are pleased to say we raised around $4500 on the day. Final result to come.

A big thank you to Portarlington Golf Club for use of their course. An excellent Lunch and their hospitality staff could not have been more helpful.
