SWGA 2026 Women’s & Men’s Foursomes Championships.
The co-run Foursomes event was held again at Curlewis GC in excellent weather conditions. The course was in very condition for the district’s class field of players.
The Men’s event was held over 36 holes with 30 pairs of men heading out in the AM for a shotgun start. Barwon Valley combo of David Foster & Tommi Wesley set the am pace with a tidy 71 gross, closely followed by East Geelong brothers Ned & Abel Foley on 73.
The PM round showed some teams slipping into their groove or not. Fine sub- par scores were posted by the challenging combos of Nic Welsh & Hunter Togni & Ben Bowers & Ty Murray.
The best round of the day was by Alex Barnes (13th Beach) & Tom Hyland (Barwon Heads) with a 68 giving them a winning total of 143.
