Women's pennant season

2024 pennant fixture - REVISED 29 Jan

SWGA Womens Pennant Division 1 Final will be played at The Sands Golf Course, Torquay Friday 17thMay, tee off is 9.00am.

The layout will be a perfect arena for the 2 teams who finished 1 & 2 on the ladder after the 6 game round robin series.

The last round of the event was a nail biter with 4 teams still in the mix having to play against each for their finals berth. 13th Beach charged home to beat Curlewis 5/2. Giving them 5 contests wins & 10 points.

Last year’s premiers Barwon Heads had headed the table into the last round & were looking good but had to withstand a challenge by a determined Torquay side out for revenge from 2023. It was a terrific finish by both teams on the picturesque Anglesea Golf Course, many spectators, greenside & in the club house were eagerly awaiting the results of the players coming up the 18th. After so much golf the contest was tied giving Barwon Heads the narrowest of margins to earn a finals spot in front of Torquay.
